The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1670 (Fundraiser round @ Vineyard Cincinnati)

Day 1670

GCDGA held a fundraiser event for Vineyard Cincinnati (Sharonville area) so we went and played that.  Weather was perfect (70 and sunny).  We ended up throwing by ourselves since we arrived later in the day.

Given the property, I think they did a nice job laying out the course.  It's certainly in an area that could use more courses.  Most of the holes run along roads or near buildings so it's not a course like we would usually play since we prefer to go to courses out in the woods.  And some of the holes weren't very safe (parallel fairways, throwing right next to roads, throwing across parking lots, throwing where there are park benches, throwing near a playground and near buildings).  But with some tweaks they could solve some of these issues.  And setting that aside, it was a fun layout.  Definitely still raw in areas -- it would need some branches removed to make fairer lines and honeysuckle removed to make it playable.

There was a nice stretch of holes from 9-14 that was in the woods and removed from the roads that was nice.  Hole 16 was a neat long open wooded tunnel hole that reminded of Hole 5 at Burg.  And most of the holes were enjoyable to throw if you ignored the roads/traffic.

Was listed as Par 57, I threw a 51.  Danny got a 67 . . . he threw and putted pretty well but did find some OB and I don't think he was 100% into it wasn't his kind of course with the roads and being crowded with groups

No pics, as so often happens we were having a nice afternoon in nice weather and didn't think to take any.

Fun day, glad to (hopefully) have another course option.
