The Disc Golf Streak, Day 3000 (Fairborn & Mills Lawn)

Day 3000

Had wanted to throw Fairborn (aka Ace Hardware Handyman) DGC for quite a while but it was just outside our travel area at about an hour away . . . so we decided to throw it for Day 3000.  Eric drove over from Columbus to meet us.  Weather was nice for mid-November (50's, overcast, not raining).

The course was great, one of the best we've thrown.  Since it was the first time there for all of us we just played triples from the white (short) tees (which were plenty long enough).  I have no idea what we shot, doesn't matter, we each had some good shots and had fun.   Even better we had a twosome in back of us and decided to let them play through at Hole 5 and they wanted to join . . . so we did and we ended up getting to enjoy a round with father and son, Jason and Isaac which was a treat since they were good natured fun people to throw with and it was nice having Isaac know where the tees and pins were since he has thrown it before.

This course had more trees than just about any course we've played.  Some holes were even kind of "poke and pray" and "unfair" but even those were okay because they were Par 4 or longer holes where you just needed to get to a good area to throw an approach.

We really enjoyed the course and I would definitely like to play it again.

After that we headed over to Mills Lawn DGC which is a very short nine hole course by an elementary school in Yellow Springs.  We hoped to maybe pick up an ace on Day 3000 there but were only able to get a few metal hits.  It did push us up to the low 90s on the number of courses thrown.

Stopped at McDonalds for a late lunch and headed home, barely making it home before dark.

I can't believe it has been 8.5 years of disc golf every day!
