Day 1244
Headed up to the Dayton area -- it was cold so we picked a shorter course to throw -- Xenia Rotary DGC (our 53rd course played not counting home).
It's only about 4400' but fairly technical with a lot of elevation. For the Dayton area I was surprised how many holes were either throwing up or down a big hill. For a short course it felt a lot longer and was quite a bit of fun.
This was one of favorite courses and we'll play it again if we're in the area. Long enough, well wooded, interesting holes, good teepads, good baskets, good design for the space. A couple legitimate Par 4 holes. Only negative was a bit of trouble navigating the layout for the first time.
Threw a 48 playing dubs (-6) . . . we took two 4's but those were pretty legitimate Par 4's (or unbirdiable Par3's).

Lost a disc. Rare occurrence . . . I was going to throw a putter but didn't want to risk the "Peace, Love, Disc Golf" Judge . . . he said "don't do it" . . . was going to throw a Truth that Lily drew a character on . . . he said "don't do it" . . . so I threw an Emac Truth . . . and watched it sail down the hill into the deep part of the creek. Tried to drag the bottom but we gave up pretty quickly since it was so cold and the disc wasn't that beloved. The creek behind him (Hole 16) was where we parted ways.
Thought this was an interesting lie off the drive on 17 . . . talk about a guarded green on the left side (no, we didn't make this putt):
Since we were in the area we finally got up to Hazy Shade (disc golf shop). Oh my, what a selection. Second biggest shop we've been to (only outdone by Dynamic Discs's company store in Emporia). They have racks and racks of discs . . . but guess what, we also have racks of discs . . . so we bought one 148g Sidewinder for Danny since those are hard to find . . . and because I bag two Sidewinders and he needs to be like dad (ha ha). Nice store workers too, very helpful and friendly.
Great day . . . until we watched XU play when we got home (being soundly beaten by Creighton today). 😢
