The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1219 (New Years Day Crazy Hat @ Stonelick)

Day 1219.

This year the New Years' Day "Crazy Hat" event was at Stonelick (instead of Osage).  It was BYOP dubs so Danny & I teamed up and threw in the mixed division (we are most competitive throwing with the husband/wife teams so they let us throw with them).

The day was chilly 35 and very breezy but warmed up to 45 and the sun came out as the day went on. I'll note here what a trooper Danny is -- carrying a bag that's heavy for him and with feet I know were frozen he soldiered on with hardly a complaint.

We threw with Kurt/Shauna and Phil/Susan both of whom we've thrown with often and know really well and are favorites of ours to throw with.

The layout was 18 holes plus 1-6 for a total of 24 holes.  We played a round of dubs at the Stonelick fundraiser a few weeks ago . . . and this went much better. Our first 18 holes were a 59 instead of a 65 like last time, although we still have to figure a few things out . . . we ended up with an 80 on 24 holes.  Much better than our last time there, I felt like we threw well on a tough course.  We did cash (not sure, think we finished 3rd).

And we typically stop at Speedway after throwing and get Speedy Freezes . . . today on Hole 1 we had a tough 35-40' putt and I told him if he made it that I'd upgrade him from a medium to a Mighty Speedy Freeze . . .

One last thought -- how was it that every hole seemed to face directly into the sun?
