The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1124 (Stonelick Birdie Bash)

Day 1124.

Kurt, Shauna & Daryl are leading the effort to get a disc golf course installed at Stonelick State Park.  Today they (and the Friends of Stonelick) put on a birdie bash to help raise funds for that purpose.

28 holes, winding through the proposed course, lots of woods, fields, lake side holes and it had a Paint Creek feel to it.  I'm very curious to see the final standard 18 hole layout.

We threw with Tim Christie, always a pleasure and we always seem to team up with Tim at birdie bashes.  Danny got 7, I got 18 -- we both threw pretty well.  Danny put a putt into the lake (basket a couple feet from the lake) and it took a while to fish it out even seeing exactly where it went in.  The water is murky and it will be very hard to recover discs.  Depending on the exact layout, I could see a lot of discs being lost in the lake.

Had lunch up there as well to support the cause.  Fantastic weather, fun course, can't wait to see a real course in there . . .
