Day 1086.
We decided to head to Mt. Airy on Wed night. We don't play there very often because it's a longer course and less fun for Danny, but a few times a year we go and play a round of doubles together and see how we do. I think that all started because the first events I ever played were No Bogeys BYOP with Eric . . . and a couple times with Danny . . . and we like going back and comparing ourselves against me & Eric.
It had probably been close to a year since we played a round there on a weeknight evening and our previous best was a 59 together . . . and it didn't look like that "record" was in any jeopardy after we started +5 over the first five holes. But somehow, bit by bit, we clawed back and by getting birdies on two holes we had never birdied before, we managed to go -3 over the last 13 holes and wound up +2 (56). I guess technically this was -2 since course par was 58.
Anyway, good memories/shots were birdie-ing Holes 6 & 12 each for the first time ever and both of us gave Hole 8 good run and landed within 6' of the basket (always nice when we both do well). Also, Danny hit a 45' uphill putt on Hole 17 to get a 3 for us.
Joined up with Troy Matteoli at Hole 14 (he was playing the short loop) and we played the last five holes with him.
