The Disc Golf Streak, Day 852 (Osage, Karl Von Coldewey and Home, oh my!)

Day 852.

The boy is trying to kill me.  I guess technically his stamina is increasing and he just enjoys playing disc golf, but three rounds later it feels like he is trying to run me into the ground.

Eric was able to join us today and he hadn't been to Osage in quite a while, so we went out there.  It was a cold day, but at this point when it's 30+ degrees outside it doesn't phase us so it wasn't bad.

We met up with Kelly Ernst, a newer player, and tested out a few understable discs with him and he joined us to play nine holes until his group arrived.  Funny, I didn't realize we had met Kelly on Day 824 at the end of a casual round at Osage until he mentioned it.  It's a small disc golf world after all.

One round at Osage, two loops at Karl Von Coldewey and one round at home with some Donato's pizza in between.  You'd think we'd be done with disc golf for the day then, but nope, Danny "needed" to figure out a fast but not too fast wind fighting driver, because the Beast was too fast to fly like he wanted and the Valkyrie (Starlite) is his normal driver . . . so we went to the rack and tested out Teebirds, Teebird3s, Thunderbirds and Undertakers.  He ended up putting a beat-in Thunderbird in his bag for now.  Ha ha, one more common disc in our bags now.

I love the detailed discussions we have about our mutual hobby debating flight numbers and approaches to holes and so on.  It's a real treat having a son with a genuine interest in the same thing that interests me.

A couple pictures from today.  Danny and Eric walking along at Karl Von Coldewey, Hole 5:

And we ran into Kelly's group at KVC . . . obviously we're not the only ones who thought it was a good day for disc golf, KVC was the most crowded I've ever seen it with one group (not Kelly's) walking up to Tee 1 (while we were on Hole 2) holding up their discs and yelling: "Yeah! Frisbee Golf!"  Ha ha, I commend the spirit.

Noteworthy items today: Eric & I throwing nice drives on Hole 9 @ Osage, all of us parking Hole 8 @ KVC and me missing the ace on Hole 4 @ home by chaining out with the Comet.

Not much better than spending a day hanging out with one of your best friends . . . and Eric too. LOL
