The Disc Golf Streak, Day 768 (Quaker Knoll)

Day 768.  Lots of pictures this time . . .

We went up to Jay Schroeder's course at Quaker Knoll in Wilmington.  It's privately owned so there are only occasional chances to play his course.  This weekend he had a tournament on Sat and open play (and also a singles event) on Sun.  He's trying to fundraise for some permanent baskets.

We came here once before on Day 396 (https://thediscgolfstreak.blogspot.com/2017/09/the-disc-golf-streak-day-396.html).

He has 14 wooded holes now and 25 holes in total.  We played the wooded holes twice and a few of the open holes.  The wooded holes are beautiful and fantastic and we had the course to ourselves early this morning.  (Nothing wrong with the open holes, they are fun too, but wooded holes are just more fun for us.) I threw my Comet so much and the holes were just made for it.  There's nothing like carving up the woods (or trying to anyway) with a Comet.

So (picture below) this is hole 1.  It starts with a 250' wooded anny flex forehand.

I think this was hole 10 (maybe 11), I liked how much was in the way and yet lines were there.  This was a repeated theme where you could spend a bunch of time trying to find the "best" line.  I just liked how this one was framed -- it felt like a triple mando (I threw a Firebird backhand through it and skipped up toward the basket).

This is the putting green on that hole.  Jay has a lot of cool "woodwork" around the course where felled trees frame walkways, putting greens, fairways, next holes walks, etc.

This was a fun hole, 14 I think.  In this setup, you throw 210' (felt a lot longer) across two valleys to an elevated basket.  My last throw of the day, I had fun putting my Comet on a straight line there.

This course is on a church owned campgroup.  Peace, love, disc golf.

And lots of mushrooms growing back in the woods . . .

This course is definitely worth the trip (near Clarksville, OH) if you ever get the chance.  This is the second time we've thrown it and we'll go back again next year if given the chance.
