The Disc Golf Streak, Days 732 & 733 (disc golfing in Brown County, IN)

Days 732 & 733.

We went to Nashville in Brown County, IN for Labor Day weekend and got rounds in at Deer Run on Sat and Brown County Country Club on Sun.

We've played them both before.  Didn't see anyone else on Deer Run . . . although that could be since we played through a thunderstorm.  We played the short (reds) layout in doubles format and shot a 9-under (45). I love the design of the course and it's fun, although some of the fairways being formed by unmown 5' high rough is . . . not cool.  Had one throw (pretty good throw actually) go off the fairway and spent 15 minutes looking and then 10 minutes picking weed seeds off myself.  Anyway, it's a good course and we had a few ace runs.

I enjoy BCCC a bit more -- it's a pay course ($8 adults, $4 kids, $75/yr) and it's worth it. They've gotten about half of the concrete tees in now and the course is well maintained.  It's a 24 hole course built on an old golf course and is a good mix of woods and open along with 3 holes (for the reds) with water (ponds/lakes) in play.

We walked in to play, rang the bell, I pulled $12 out of my pocket to pay and handed it to the woman behind the counter and she says "Oh, you two are the ones that play every day, aren't you?"  Yes, we had played there last year, but I couldn't believe we were instantly recognized.  Then we played through a group that had just been to the Nati and Airy in the past couple weeks so we talked with them about the other Cincy courses.

We played from the reds which was Par 76 (24 holes, four Par 4s) and as a dubs team shot a 66 (10-under).  Just missed an ace on a 160' wooded hole #19 -- chained out with a Comet. Overall, a good round, we started out 8-under on the first 8 wooded holes and then played decent par golf after that.

Both courses are very nice -- the disc golfers of Brown County are very fortunate!
