The Disc Golf Streak, Days 368 & 369 (Deer Run & Brown County Country Club)

Days 368 & 369 of the streak.

Went to Nashville, IN for Labor Day vacation and played a couple courses out there.

Deer Run DGC we played last year and went back this year. Public course, really well laid out and challenging. Short and long tees, 18 holes, lots of fun. Two pictures from Hole 18 . . . one from last year (dad in blue shirt, this year dad in black shirt). One of my favorite rounds of the year playing with three generations. Dad & Danny played doubles against me. Only negatives are astroturf tees and a lot of weedy rough. But overall a great course . . . but haven't seen another soul on it in a couple trips there. Hanging basket is Hole 10 on Deer Run.

Danny & I went and played Brown County Country Club on Sunday -- first time we've played a pay course ($8 adults, $4 kids, but they didn't charge for Danny). It's on a converted 9 hole ball course that closed in 2003 and it's 24 holes. Half in woods, half in open. Very well designed . . . talked to owner a couple times and he said he hired a pro designer. They have the best in ground markers directing you to next tee I've ever seen. Also have green beginner/kid tees on the first 9 holes. Just has gravel tees now. Has some challenging water hazards as well. This course had several groups playing.

Other picture is my portable MVP basket . . . we set it up in the yard of the cabin we rented . . . spent all weekend putting. Look at those tree lines, great practice area.

Those of you that like to travel for disc golf vacations, Nashville IN is a great little town with two good courses, definitely worth a trip. That means you Kurt Lahm Shauna Lahm!
