The Disc Golf Streak, Day 306 (Birthday Party Mini-Tourney)

Day 306 of the streak . . . Danny's 8th birthday.

Had eight kids play in a 7 hole random draw dubs "tournament." Prizes were gold, silver and bronze putty and each kid (most of whom had never played before) got a starter type disc (slow, understable) to take home with them. No big surprise, Danny & his partner won, but the others had a lot of fun, were improving toward the end and their parents were asking where they could take their kids to play.

A few pictures of some of the boys are attached. I was escorting another group with three girls that started first so I didn't really take pictures of my group since I was busy helping them out.

A picture of the birthday cake with a tombstoned mini is attached. Gotta like that. Kudos to my wife for that idea.

And a couple pictures of Danny in his birthday present T-shirt with our two favorite disc golf mantras: "Disc Golf: It Can't Be Not Fun" and "Peace, Love, Disc Golf." Yeah, I'm tagging you Jason Kerl. You'll be happy to know he is now the proud owner a "Peace, Love, Disc Golf" raspberry Judge putter from the Nati. As for "Disc Golf: it can't be not fun" -- that came about when we played dubs with Kurt at Burg a while ago and I asked Danny at one point if he was comfortable playing with so many adults and if he was having fun and that was his response. "Dad, it's disc golf, it can't be not fun!"

Hope you are all having a good weekend.
