The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1390 (Practice round @ Burg, home coursework notes)

Day 1390

Got up early and went out to throw a round at Burg since league is there this week and we don't throw it often.  We threw before it got too hot, but it was already 85 at 10am.

Not a pretty practice round, lots of bad luck and some mistakes.  For the first time on Hole 8 (after you climb the huge hill) ever I hit an early tree and had to go ALL the way DOWN the ravine to the CREEK to retrieve my disc.

For the past week or so I've been doing more work on the home course (Turkey Ridge).  Cut three tee areas into the woods so wooded exit teeshots are required.  Also did a huge amount of work on a new 300'+ wooded hole linking the two sides of the course around the back of the house -- I must have spent 20 hours cutting and clearing.

Now I'm installing a few teepads on holes that don't have driveway/walkway tees already.  Got the second one done today.  Basically built a pressure treated wood frame, leveled it, staked it level, filled with dirt, tamped, then screwed astroturf on top.  For the first couple times anyway they seem to do the job nicely.

This is the one finished today:

Here's the first one finished yesterday:

And one pic of the green on the new wooded tunnel hole:
