The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1380 (GCDGA League @ Idlewild)

Day 1380

Great day.  GCDGA league finally got started tonight -- the league is each of us playing singles as a doubles team.  A & B players and handicapped.  First time we've played this league.  8 total teams, playing each other team twice over 14 weeks at 14 different courses.

So, it was windy today.  It was so windy that the wind was being blown around by the wind.  A Sharknado seemed like a real possibility today.  At one point we heard a tree fall on the next fairway over . . . and all night all four of us were looking up watching the trees and listening to the creaking.  20-30 mph winds.  Thank goodness it wasn't raining too.

In light of the wind, we threw pretty well.  This week we matched up against Dave (Marlow) and Ted (Tollefson) -- I had to give Dave strokes and Danny got strokes from Ted.  Layout was Idlewild original 18, short pads & tees.

We had a great time, it was relaxing and fun throwing with them and we threw a 66 and 86 which was good for each of us.  Turns out we got 10 points (that whole handicapped league thing) between the two of us and were in first place after week 1.

We had fun and that is just what I hoped the league would be.  Next week is Mt Airy . . .
