The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1289 (Heritage)

Day 1289.

Course #55 (not counting home). We finally got around to throwing at Heritage Park in Colerain.

We put it off for a long time because it's flat and open and when we got there we saw that it was . . . flat and open.  A couple holes skirt some trees but most of the holes are wide open.  In the summer tall grass defines the fairways but in winter it's cut down and the course is unobstructed.

And considering that -- it wasn't too bad.  We had fun -- threw 5-under (49) playing dubs.  Given the land and considering that they were making an open course on that land my only real criticism is that some of the fairway angles are very wonky -- they bent fairways in weird lines to get baskets hidden behind the bamboo/grass stands. Some were not natural disc golf angles/lines.  Lots of blind shots -- I could see this being terribly frustrating in the summer between the grass/bamboo stands and the tall fairway grass.  I'm glad we played it before the grass started growing.

I wouldn't go back any time soon, but it's a place to throw discs so it serves its purpose.  The overall park seems very nice (baseball fields, walking trails, playgrounds all looked good).
