The Disc Golf Streak, Day 812 (Hocking College DGC)

Day 812.

Hocking College DGC was our 37th course and is one of our favorites.  Like Whispering Cave the elevation changes were some of the most we've experienced and also like WC the holes are short but some play a lot longer because of the elevation.

Hocking College starts with three holes in campus, then 4-15 are in the woods and then 16-18 are back in the middle of campus.  We skipped a couple of the on campus holes (hard to find 2 & 3 and I wanted to hit he wooded holes before he lost his gumption since it was windy and cold).

The wooded holes were so much fun -- ranging in length from 135' to 285' (mostly shorter).  The toughest was probably a 180' hole that played up a giant hill so it played like 300'.

The length made it so much fun.  There were lines, but not easy ones and there was trouble with the "cliffs" but not too much trouble.  Danny was carving up the woods and having a great time.

The most fun for him was Hole 14, a 150' downhill hole with a "cliff" 20' behind the basket.  He often jokes when I tell him to be careful that "Danny Disc Golf never lays up."  So he went for the ace (came very close) and as you can see below he got stopped by the last tree from going off the "cliff." He just thought the whole thing was hilarious and was laughing his head off.

Playing dubs we ended up 8-under on 16 holes, so the course wasn't too hard but it was a lot of fun.  A top 10 course for us on the most enjoyable list.
