Day 667 of the streak.
Lamar and Lucas Jackson hosted a juniors event again this Thursday night -- this time at Winton Woods. Pretty good turnout again, about ten kids . . . and this time a couple new boys came out and they were impressive. The kids were split up and half played the front nine and the other half played the back nine (it was hot and no one wanted to wear the kids out).
Most memorable part of the night was that *two* aces were hit by Tovin Weed on Hole 11 and Lilly Ruthen on Hole 9.
Lucas, Tovin and Rodney (Eshelman) all tied four strokes behind Danny. The level of competition was much higher this week.
After we did the nine competitive holes, a bunch of us stuck around and played the front 9. Danny threw his personal best at Winton with a 4-under (50).
At one point I threw my Comet into the edge of the woods and everyone helped me look for it for 10-15 minutes . . . and the kids were having fun running around and exploring the woods. Huge thanks to Sabrina Eshelman for finally finding my Comet . . . a foot off the fairway in a bush. The funniest part of the evening for me was after that searching the kids wanted to get back in the woods so they started cheering (good naturedly) every time someone put a disc in the woods. LOL
