Day 2119
This was one of the best days so far during the streak. We held a small tournament at our course (Turkey Ridge Family DGC) with eleven teams --we had foursomes on every other hole to keep things spaced out.
The event was teams of fathers and kids in a hybrid doubles event with a first round of best shot doubles and a second round of singles for everyone. Team scores were the thre rounds added together.
Beautiful day, perfect dry cooler weather for June. We threw with Tim & Jordan Hartig the first round and Jerry & Luke Katenkamp the second round. Hadn't played with either before and had a good time throwing with both of them. Most of the players who signed up were friends of ours but we had a few new teams so it was great getting to meet some new people too (also Ryan & Isaiah Hinman).
So actual throwing, we did okay, I think we finished fourth, some good shots, some bad shots. Diemler & Ethan won with a 99 total (for comparison I think we were at 117) so clearly they were setting the pace with only the Lahms really close to them.
Had some CTP prizes, long putt prize, long drive prize and a Turkey Fund (get three birdies in a row, get entered into the Turkey Fund prize drawing).
Two rounds took about 1.5 hours each and we had pizza afterward. A perfect Father's Day throwing with a bunch of other guys and their sons. 👍
