The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1727 (Cheryl's Choice 2 @ Osage)

Day 1727

Signed up a couple months ago to play Cheryl's Choice 2, it's one of Danny's favorite events since they layout is shorter than most events.  It ended up being 28 holes (usual 24 plus 14, 16, 18 split into two and another using the practice basket).  Really good weather today, started out comfortable although it got quite warm by the end.

Our card was the two of us along with Pete Caldwell, Ilkin Groh and Mark Watts.  A fun card and we had a good time throwing with all of them.

We both threw well today, I ended up 6-under (953 rated) and Danny was +4 (876 rated).  Both significantly better than our current ratings.  Highlight holes for him were birdies on 4 & 7 which aren't ones he'd usually get.  Overall, he got four birdies and thanks to good scrambling and putting didn't take anything worse than a 4.  My "highlights" were hitting first available trees on 9 & 16 and somehow throwing my second shots close enough to salvage pars on those holes.

Looking at the overall results there were 119 players . . . and funny enough Danny beat or tied 59 players and was behind 59 players.  Right in the middle of the pack of players, not too shabby for an 11 year old.  (I beat or tied all but nine players today.)

Another great event run by Crossover Disc Golf (Josh & Cheryl Terwilleger).
