Day 1601
Played in the No Bogey dubs today at Airy. Weather could be worse, but could have been a lot better too . . . 35 degrees, snow flurries and squalls on and off, wet and marshy ground. Played with Josh & Cheryl today which is always fun for us. 11am tee time . . .
We played really well today considering the conditions. Not well enough to cash -- last cash in intermediate was 54 (!) and we shot a 57. It would have taken error-free throwing for us to tie for last cash. But overall we both threw well, both had some of our best shots ever on some holes, and the approaches and putting were pretty good.
Had a good competitive round with Josh & Cheryl (who played in the mixed division). Back and forth through the round, but we were tied going into the last hole . . . Josh & I threw almost identical drives to about a 30' uphill putt at the basket . . . and he hit the putt and we missed the challenging putt. So they edged us 56-57.
Tried some different things today to stay warm. Wore toe warmers which worked out great and vest jackets which were perfect for staying warm while allowing free arm movement.
Maybe not the most stylish guys but we were warm out there . . . 😀
Hey Danny -- remember when Cheryl griplocked that drive on 16 and I looked at you and whispered "Shankosaurus" and you started cracking up? 😂
