Day 1019
Went to Williamsburg and threw in the "Burgie Bash" birdie bash put on by Josh Terwilleger (CROSSover Disc Golf).
He set it up as 30 holes . . . mostly short reachable holes, although a couple of them were impossible (Hole 11 there were so many trees I honestly would have felt pretty safe with a machine gunner trying to shoot us from the basket) and the double mando (Hole 27?) where I was picturing Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon saying "that gap? no way!"
The weather was iffy -- a lot of on and off sprinkles -- but it held out and was just fine for our morning round. We threw with Brian Martin and Jake. Had fun throwing with them . . . and had fun throwing period because we played in the adult-junior division. That would be fun regardless, but my partner's putting was on so . . . I only made 4 or 5 putts on the day . . . and we birdied 25 out of 30 holes. Felt really good. Danny threw and putted so well I suspect he would have gotten at least 15 on his own.
Here's a screen capture from a little video Josh took of Danny parking Hole 6 with a Comet:
And the event results:
We had so much fun throwing together . . . birdie bashes are great anyway, but they are even better throwing together!
