The Disc Golf Streak, Day 1011 (casual father-son dubs @ Idlewild)

Day 1011

We met Jason & Tovin Weed at Idlewild and threw father-son doubles . . . fathers paired up against the boys . . . and Idlewild being a super difficult course we gave them 18 strokes.  This, you will see, was a mistake.

The weather was nice (cloudy and comfortable) and the course was in good shape (the Big 3 is there this weekend).  Jason & I knew we were in trouble when we threw a good long drive, a pretty good upshot, had a 45-50' putt, came close and missed and took a 4 . . . and tied the kids.  After three holes they were still tied with us straight up and we were already starting to discuss if we should call them for courtesy violations to try and give us a chance. LOL

We did eventually find some holes where we could make up some strokes but on the day we threw a 69 and they threw a 80, so they won the challenge by 7 strokes.  Both Tovin and Danny threw great -- a combined 80 at Idlewild is pretty darn good.  To put it in perspective, par on that layout is 67 and only twenty touring pros were able to keep it below par at the 2018 Idlewild Open.

Idlewild is much more fun and pleasant throwing doubles so you have a partner to help erase a lot of the mistakes.  We both had a great time . . .

Already a great day, it was made even better by the season debut of Battlebots in the evening . . . Idlewild + Battlebots on the same day, it can't get much better than that.

Here's a short video of Danny throwing Hole 15 (the short hole) and having a nice ace run.  That was the only 2 on the day for either of us.  This is all you get because you don't want to see how the rest of us threw on that hole . . . ha ha
