The Disc Golf Streak, Day 668 (Glowshen, glow @ Osage)

Day 668 of the streak.

Danny & I headed out to Osage to play random draw triples hosted by Josh Terwilleger . . . which we all decided to turn into random draw doubles when 16 people showed up.

This glow round experience was a lot better than our last time out there at Kurt's camp-n-throw, mostly because the ground was so much drier (no random stepping into mud puddles in the dark).  We each decided to go with just three discs so Danny was throwing Glide-Comet-Deputy and I went Thunderbird-Comet-Deputy.  We just used lights this time with one piece of glow tape in case the lights fell off.  Playing from the short tees these discs worked just fine.

I paired up with John and Danny paired with Corey Roberts.  Had a good time, those guys work together so we had a comfortable foursome.  We shot 3-under and Corey & Danny shot 3-up . . . which was pretty good, they tied a couple teams and beat another.  7-under won and a couple 6-unders took second.  John & I finished 4th.  I felt like I was putting lights-out (ha ha) -- I think having nothing but a bright basket to focus on really helped me.

The mosquitoes were evil . . . I swear there were so many that they landed on top of each other because they couldn't find any open skin to land.  It was a relief to get back to the shelter and have them leave us alone . . . we were the first ones done so sitting in the dark shelter we spread our discs out on the table like candle lights and ate & drank while we waited for everyone else (and he couldn't keep his eyes open for a picture because the phone light was so bright in the dark, ha ha).

All in all a good time and we had a much better idea on how to handle a full glow round this time around.  (We still prefer to be able to see what we're throwing at though!)

The girls were at a sleepover so in true "Boys Night Out" fashion we got home at 12:45am . . . and then watched the episode of Battlebots we had missed that night.  In bed around 1:30.  Yeah, I love spending time with this boy . . .
