The Disc Golf Streak, Days 599-600 (Kurt's Campout @ Osage)

Days 599-600 of the streak.

I'm sitting here writing up this diary entry at dusk (8:30pm) on Sunday night.  We played Kurt Lahm's Camp N Throw event this weekend, so we played 18 holes Sat afternoon, set up camp, cooked and ate, hung out throwing and playing cornhole, then threw a glow round from 9-midnight.  Camped out, got up at 7 am, cooked breakfast, started our Sun morning round around 11.  Threw until 1:30 and got home at 2.  Did something else with the family in the afternoon and then he wanted to go out and throw a bit with me tonight.  Okay, we throw.  We finish, I go inside to sit down and rest and a half-hour later this picture below is him outside my window putting on hole 15.  (He came in since I finished this and told me he shot a 3-under 51).

The event was fun, three rounds in two days was a lot for him, but we both threw pretty well for us (not well compared to other teams).  We both agreed we didn't need to play a glow round again any time soon -- we enjoy seeing where we're aiming and seeing the mud we're about to walk into!  (And being able to see the thorns . . . )  Still fun, but not our cup of tea.  The day rounds were great (even if we weren't).

Played with Jeremy, Daryl, Tim & Dave the first round, then Cheetah and Brad the second (glow) round and then Cheetah and Ben (Clark) the last round.  That was a real treat for Danny getting to watch Ben go to work for 18 holes at Osage.  (Didn't hurt that Ben is a mechanical engineering student and Danny says that's what he wants to be.)

Great weekend, hard to believe it's been 600 days!  This streak is one of the best things that ever could have happened for us!  So much time spent together and ALL of it good!
